Dear friends and family,
Right now, more than a hundred 6-12th grade students visit our studios to work with tech-savvy mentors. The technology draws them, and then the affirming community of adults and other young people keeps them coming.
This is how we provided meaningful mentoring and STEAM learning experiences to our youth members last year:
With a nationwide shortage of qualified technology employees that some estimates put at three million workers, there is a bright future for young people who gain STEAM skills – especially in Charlottesville.
You can make an impact! Can you help us now so we can continue to offer C4K to as many young people as possible in 2020?
A gift of $25 helps pay for materials for a “mind-blowing” science experiment. $50 helps pay for a Raspberry Pi computer for coding projects. $100 will help sponsor a technology-related field trip. And $500 will help pay for a subscription to a professional level technology software program. $2,000 will sponsor a youth and mentor pair for a year!
Thank you for your consideration.
With deep gratitude,
Kala E. Somerville
